Pastor Soto's
Prayer Request Page

Dear Friends:

I pray all is going well for you.  All is well on the Texas front.  Life moves on and we continue to serve Him in any capacity we can.

God has been good and He continues to open the door to share Christ among our people.  January was a busy month.  I normally take a month off to relax and that is January.  But it was like January was just an intro to a busier schedule to come in February.

God opened the door to share His peace in a time of family crisis.  Two weeks ago I got a phone call advising me that a cousin I had not seen in years had passed away.  I was asked by the family to come and pray at the cemetery and do a Native blessing.  I went to the funeral home for the service and as the priest finished his part my cousin's sister turned to me and said, "It is your turn to speak."  I guess this is where the Holy Spirit comes in your life and gives you words of wisdom
that you need at the spur of the moment.  As I got up to the front I opened my bible and shared what peace and comfort I could at such a short notice.  There were over 300 people in attendance, more than three fourths were my relatives, most of whom I had never met.  I got to share not only a message of peace, but I also got to share the Gospel to all my relations.

Last weekend I attended the United San Antonio Pow Wow.  This has become an annual event for me.  I have been doing church services there almost since the beginning of the pow wow.  I had an opportunity to share the Gospel twice in a public setting.  The first opportunity was right after I did the hoop dance when I shared about the miracle of physical healing and the miracle of salvation.  Praise the Lord for His open doors.  Then on Sunday morning we had about 100 Indian people in church.  We made a nice sized circle and by the beginning of the service every seat was taken.  One elderly Kiowa man sitting at the back of the people would clap or say AMEN with every word of agreement I shared with him.  He is 94 and at the end of the service he walked up to me and gave me hug and said, "I hope to be in church with you next year.  I was truly blessed today."  It felt so good as people all around me shared their words of agreement and encouragement before, during and after the church service.  No pastor is an island so I would like to thank Margie and her son Homer, Kathy, Hank and Nancy, Philip my son and my Mom for helping me set up and talk to people.  I also got to pray with four Indian people one on one and got to share the Gospel with one person.  So it was a great and fantastic weekend.  I was also thankful for the pow wow to allow me to set up a free booth where I sold CDs and handed out hundreds of gospel tracts.

Keep this weekend in prayer.  Saturday I will be making a short, sixty mile trip to conduct an Indian church service among a whole bunch of Lipan Apaches.  Back in December I attended a funeral for one of our elders who passed away.  I got to pray, do a small Indian blessing and share a short Gospel message at the grave side.  I had to leave after the graveside service.  So the family of the elder called me a month ago and asked if I would mind sharing an Indian service for them on February
21.  About nine of us will be traveling to visit with the family and conduct an Indian church service.  Pray for me and the right words as share the Love of God the Creator through His Son Jesus to people. I have a feeling that something good is about to happen.  The service will start at 6:00 PM with a dinner and at 7:00 PM we will break for worship.

Please pray for us.  As the economy goes, so does the giving.  I have five ministry trips coming up and we need a major miracle.  So I ask you to pray for the following trips:

*April 3-5 Church service at the Big Spring Pow Wow in Big Spring, Texas.  Big Spring is about 640 miles north of McAllen.  I will also be doing the hoop dance.

*April 22-28 We will be at the Middletown, PA Third Annual Swatara Creek Pow Wow.  We will be setting up our drum and singing.  When we are not singing we will be dancing among the people.  I will also be setting up a booth to sell our CDs and give out gospel tracts.  We will also keep our eyes and ears open to minister as God opens the doors.  I will be joined by four other guys, Ruben Soto and his son Randall, and Chris and
Homer Hinojosa.

*May 7-12  I have been asked to bring a team of singers and dancers to do ministry among the Warm Spring Apaches around T or C, NM.  This is tentative and still in the working.

*May 27-June 11  Five of us will be traveling to Switzerland for a week and a half of ministry.  Our schedule is completely booked; all we need is five airline tickets.  The main part of our ministry there will be the first weekend of June where we will be dancing and sharing the Gospel at a motorcycle rally.  Pray with me for God's provision.

*June 17-23 Our annual ministry trip to Lillooet BC where we will spend five days with the Lillooet Indians at their reservation and annual powwow.

*July 15-22 I have been invited to do an Indian Church service and the hoop dance at the Missouri State Pow Wow. My son Danny has been asked to be the head man dancer.  That is a great honor to receive.

*Along with these, pray for God's safety and provision for the church services in San Antonio.  Pray for our Indian church and McAllen Grace Brethren Church as I am gone.

*I thank you for your prayers and support.  God has called me into an interesting ministry.  A faith ministry where every trip depends not on financial support by the inviting group, but by God's provision as I obey His word and do as He has asked me to do, serve the people and trust Him for provision.*

I will be sending our personal prayer letter soon.  God bless and my prayers and love are with you all.
